ECLC of New Jersey – Payroll Accountant
ECLC of New Jersey, a not-for-profit organization serving children with special needs, is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Accountant to manage our payroll processing system and ensure timely and accurate payment of salaries and wages to our employees.
This is a full-time, twelve-month position available immediately (pending Criminal History Clearance Requirements), with a competitive salary and generous benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 403(b) retirement.

Responsibilities:
Prepare and process the company’s payroll semi-monthly accurately and on time; Prepare general Payroll Journal Entries; Assist with month-end and quarter-end close processes; Assist in annual budget and audit processes; Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding payroll and tax reporting; Process employee wage garnishments, liens and child support orders; Develop, maintain and update payroll policies and procedures as required; Conduct monthly and year-end payroll reconciliations with accounting system; Respond to payroll inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues with staff and administration; Collaborate with the HR team to ensure accurate employee data and timely processing of new hires, terminations and employee changes; Stay up-to-date with the latest payroll updates, features and changes with the system; Provide support and training to other team members and employees as needed.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll administration;
Proficiency in any payroll processing software;
Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations, tax laws, and NJDOE APSSD rules;
Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills;
Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills;
Demonstrate proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise (or comparable accounting system).
Experience using any/all of the following software systems is considered a plus: Paylocity (or comparable automated Payroll system which incorporates Time & Labor); PandaDoc (or comparable paperless Purchase Order review/approval system).If you meet the qualifications above, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity to join our team as a Payroll Accountant.
