Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Health and Physical Education Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to engage in physical activities, promote healthy lifestyles, and foster a love for fitness and sports. This role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive physical education curriculum that meets the needs of all students while encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher (Required)
- New Jersey Health and Physical Education Teaching Certification (Required)
- New Jersey Standard Instructional Certification (Required)
Duties:
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Develops, plans, and implements goals for each student.
- Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
- Creates a gym and classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Participates in planning and implementing of specific behavior interventions.
- Works cooperatively with classroom teachers and related services in planning an effective, comprehensive physical education program.
- Assesses the learning, social, and emotional needs and styles of students.
- Evaluates each pupil’s growth in physical education-related knowledge and skills, maintains records of pupils’ progress and summarizes these marks for reporting purposes and writing summaries in student Individual Education Plans (IEP's).
- Provides appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment to ensure the overall safety of pupils.
- Assumes responsibility for proper use and storage of physical education equipment.
- Conduct health classes for all students

Position Details:
- Annual Range: $65,000 to $70,000
- Schedule: 35 hours a week - Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
